What we do

Research and Documentation

REWiB aims to close the existing gap in monitoring the implementation of the women, peace and security (WPS) agenda in Africa by providing an alternative report using feminist approaches. RWB will publish annual reports on the implementation of the WPS agenda in Africa from a civil society and feminist perspective. The WPS research agenda will use the African Union Continental Results Framework (developed by the Office of the Special Envoy of WPS and approved by the African Heads of State) indicators to monitor and track the implementation of the WPS agenda in Africa from civil society and feminist perspective.

Advocacy and Policy Influence

The research outputs will provide timely data for the WPS movement in Africa to advocate for improved response to the needs of women, girls, and minority groups in conflict and post-conflict settings while pushing for increased attention of regional, sub-regional and national governments to the emerging crisis, which have significant socio-economic and political impacts on the effective implementation of the WPS agenda in Africa.

Training and Mentorship

The research outputs will provide timely data for the WPS movement in Africa to advocate for improved response to the needs of women, girls, and minority groups in conflict and post-conflict settings while pushing for increased attention of regional, sub-regional and national governments to the emerging crisis, which have significant socio-economic and political impacts on the effective implementation of the WPS agenda in Africa.

We strive to provide civil society perspective on the implementation of the WPS in Africa
