Burkina Faso’s national action plan for implementing Security Council Resolutions 1325 and 1820, adopted on 31 December 2012 by the Ministry for the Promotion of Women and the Ministry of Human Rights and Civic Promotion, with technical support from the OHCHR West Africa Regional Office.
The plan is organised around four strategic axes: protecting and rehabilitating women and girls who have suffered violence; integrating gender into the governance of security and defence; preventing violence against women and girls; and improving knowledge and expertise on that violence. It closes with the institutional framework, the monitoring mechanism, the funding arrangements and the terms for revision.
